Portland Harbor Museum seeks a full-time salaried Executive Director to
administer one of Maine’s most rapidly growing maritime historical attractions.
Work will involve a balance of cooperative program planning and
development with an active Board of Directors, and day-to-day
administration of finances, records, fund raising, human resources and

The museum was organized in 1987 to be an educational resource on
maritime history and culture. From conservator of a single artifact, a
35 foot section of the South Portland built extreme clipper ship Snow
Squall it has evolved to a more generalized focus on human activity on
the waters of Portland Harbor and Casco Bay. The museum is currently
housed on the campus of Southern Maine Community College. Salary
negotiable from $30,000 based on background and experience. Partial
benefits are included. A bachelor’s or master’s degrees and prior
management experience a must.
